The organisation’s activities are focused on both the environment and the community. Key initiatives include:
- Conservation and Restoration: Volunteers carry out vital work such as footpath maintenance, bracken control, peatland restoration, and managing wildlife habitats.
- Education and Engagement: FoIM promotes the use of the moor for education and recreation through guided walks, events, and educational activities for children and young people.
- Fundraising: The charity actively seeks grants and donations to supplement the council’s resources, funding materials and equipment needed for conservation projects.
- By providing opportunities for volunteering and learning, Friends of Ilkley Moor ensures that this special place is protected and appreciated by all who use it.
